The conference will take place at European Institute for Marine Studies (IUEM) of the University of Brest, in Plouzané, Brest.

Transport

Coming to Brest by train takes about 3 1/2 hours from Paris (train station ‘Montparnasse’). More information on the SNCF railway company website

By plane, many airlines (HOP!, Air France, Flybe, Easyjet, Ryanair, Vueling, Chalair) provide flights from Paris (~1h flight) and several cities in Europe to Brest international airport (BES). More information on Brest Airport website

 

There are regular shuttles bus connecting the Airport with the tramway going to Brest city centre. It costs about 1.50 € per ride (including the tramway leg, the ticket is valid for 1 hour)

 

Coming to IUEM from Brest city centre

The IUEM is about 8km from Brest city centre. You can come by car (carpooling can be a good option), otherwise, it is possible to reach IUEM using public transport.

The easiest way is to catch the tramway from the city centre ("Liberté") to the terminus station "Porte de Plouzané". Regular bus lines 2 and 13 connect the tram’s terminus station to the IUEM. Line 2 also allows you to come directly from Brest train station to IUEM. Line 43 is a direct line between the city center (stop ‘Liberté’) and the IUEM, however there are only 4 trips scheduled a day. Accommodation 

There are a multitude of accommodation options available in Brest (and Plouzané), including Bed and Breakfast, hotels, hostels, university residences and short-term apartment rentals. For more information on accommodation options, visit Brest-Tourism 

In Brest, we recommend that you stay in area close to a tram station to commute easily to the conference venue and the city centre (and close to a Boulangerie, because you cannot start a day without a French croissant). The most convenient areas in Brest include 'Saint Martin', 'Siam', 'Recouvrance', 'Les Capucins'.
