Brest is located in one of the most stunning regions of France. There are a lot of activities in and around the city. If possible, we recommend that you stay a few more days to enjoy the beautiful landscape and delicious food of the region.

What to see in Brest :  

-       City Botanical Garden,

-       Les Capucins and its Media library 

-       The Marina and its restaurant and bars

-       Brest Castle

-       Tanguy Tower (Recouvrance)

-       Recouvrance Bridge

-       The cable car connecting Siam and Les Capucins

-       La Rue Saint Malo (oldest street in Brest) 

-       Océanopolis (aquarium and ocean theme park)

Going out in Brest

Again there are many options, the best restaurant and bars are located within Siam, St Martin and the Marina (le Port). Local conference participants will make sure to show you around or recommend their favorite places.

 

What to see/do around Brest (within 1 hour drive from Brest)

-       Crozon Peninsula for hiking/biking/climbing/surfing in stunning landscapes (1h drive, or ~40min ride with shuttle boat from Brest)

-       La Pointe Saint Mathieu and Le Conquet (especially if there is a storm, ~30min drive)

-       Les Blancs Sablons (surfer’s spot and beautiful wild beach, ~30min drive)

-       Plougonvelin (beautiful beach and area to walk around and chill, ~25min drive)

-       Le Phare du Minou (one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the area, next to Brest most popular surfer beach and a gastronomic restaurant, ~20min drive from Brest, or 10min from IUEM)
